Weddings are awesome and I’m lucky enough to get to play quite a few of them every year. Everyone’s excited, the wine is flowing and the newlyweds are surrounded by great friends, family and, well, me.
This past summer I played a surprise performance for an awesome couple I had met years ago in Waterloo. The bride’s mother arranged for me to surprise them during the reception and play “Hey Love” as well as a few other tunes including a cover of “Isn’t She Lovely” for the Father/Daughter dance. Well, I walked in (after hiding in the parking lot for 45 minutes!), it was a complete surprise and ended up being one of the most memorable weddings of the summer. Here’s that version of “Isn’t She Lovely” that I recorded in my apartment before heading to the wedding. Enjoy.
